Start As A Student
Submission – Ambassador for the Environment

Introduction
Education today must go beyond knowledge transfer. It should teach students how to become responsible citizens who care for their communities and the environment. In designing and implementing the Red Palace (Kakh Sorkh), one of my main missions was to create a direct connection between learning, sustainability, and environmental responsibility. This mission has been integrated not only into the curriculum but also into the very methods of delivery, the tools we use, and the long-term development strategy of the program
Background and Objectives
One of the biggest challenges in modern education is the overuse of resources (paper, printed books, and high-consumption equipment) and the growing problem of electronic waste. My objective was to create a sustainable educational ecosystem by
Minimizing paper and printing
Producing long-lasting educational hardware
Teaching sustainable living skills to students
Demonstrating that technology can drive both innovation and environmental responsibility
Innovations and Actions
Reducing Paper Usage through Digitalization
Most learning content is delivered through VR, AR, and PWA applications
The Red Palace book is the first AR-based educational book in Iran, where a single book provides hundreds of learning experiences without repeated printing
Locally Produced High-Quality VR Glasses
I began producing VR headsets four years ago
These devices were engineered with durability and longevity in mind, significantly reducing the turnover of hardware and thereby lowering electronic waste
PWA Applications Instead of Heavy Software
The Red Palace uses a Progressive Web App (PWA) platform.
This reduces the need for heavy installations and high-energy consumption hardware, making learning more accessible and environmentally friendly
Embedding Sustainability in Life Skills Curriculum
Within the 9 Levels of Life Skills (covering topics from financial literacy, etiquette, and digital awareness to entrepreneurship and decision-making), students learn principles of resource management, financial responsibility, and sustainable lifestyles
For example, they are taught how to save money, reduce unnecessary expenses, and think critically about resource use in daily life
AI-Powered Multilingual Translation
Instead of producing separate content for each language, all courses are AI-translated and dubbed into multiple languages
This reduces resource duplication while enabling global access with a single set of materials
How This Differs from Standard Practice
While many institutions remain dependent on printed textbooks and resource-heavy tools, the Red Palace has built a fully digital-first model with minimal environmental footprint
Instead of importing low-quality, short-life VR hardware, we created locally produced, durable, and standard-compliant headsets
Instead of duplicating content in multiple printed or localized versions, we rely on AI-based multilingual solutions, which are efficient and sustainable
Change Created and Results
More than 10,000 active students have engaged with the Red Palace without requiring stacks of printed books
It is estimated that this model has already prevented the use of thousands of paper textbooks
Students have not only benefited from immersive digital learning but have also been directly educated about sustainability.
Many have adopted responsible habits in resource use, saving, and environmental awareness in their personal lives.
CSR Alignment
All of these efforts align with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy of the Erfan Khoshnazar brand
Providing high-quality, modern education.
Preserving natural resources and minimizing waste.
Teaching future generations how to live responsibly and sustainably.
Conclusion
The Red Palace is more than an educational program; it is a sustainable model for the future of learning. By reducing paper use, producing durable and eco-friendly hardware, adopting PWA platforms, and embedding sustainable life skills into its curriculum, it has made a measurable positive impact on both education and the environment. For this reason, it stands as a strong candidate for the Ambassador for the Environment award
